I have more than 16 years experience in technology and electronic information management in the non-profit sector. I decided early on to combine my computer expertise with my social conscience, and focussed my energy on helping non-profit organisations navigate the digital world. My current work is in e-communications consulting, helping nonprofits develop strategies to use the web and social media to further their causes.
I have extensive technical skill in designing and developing websites and cultivating social media communities, as well as considerable editorial experience in print media. This forms the foundation for my work in e-communications.
I have worked for many years to bridge the digital divide for my non-profit clients; not only bringing them up to speed, but showing them how to use technology economically and tailor it to their individual needs and capacities. I am an award-winning web developer and my clients include Robben Island Museum, Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation, Black Sash, Inyathelo: The South African Institute for Advancement, various departments at the University of Cape Town and University of the Western Cape, Red Cross Children’s Hospital, the District Six Museum, and many more.
Interested in working with me?
I am passionate about helping nonprofits learn to properly engage with social media, a critical communications channel. With a good strategy in place, social media means you can reach a much wider audience and engage with them: teach them about your cause, ask them to support you by volunteering, contributing funds, or promoting your work to their networks. Get in touch if you'd like to know more about how I can help you.
